What a ride it’s been... The journey of our beloved Darkflow started with a simple idea: create a reflective vest for women cycling to work, with a happy vibe and extra visible in the dark. We quickly realized it was a hit!

at first sight
After the first launch, it was clear: people loved Darkflow’s fun design. So we listened closely to feedback and made a few upgrades. We integrated a double zipper to create more space around the hips when cycling and one side pocket for keys or other small essentials. Initially they were designed to go over bulky winter coats. The first version of the darkflow bodyglower ran a bit large. So we resized it to a more female fit.

As moms couldn’t find a way to make their teenagers wear a reflective vest, we launched the darkflow in size xxs and xs. But all of the sudden, runners started wearing Darkflow. Even though it was too warm, too big and the hood was flopping around mid-run. So we designed Scarlett. A lighter, breathable, sportswear version with no hood, no pockets, and therefor no flapping!

At the same time, our founder’s daughter was eying her mom’s darkflow. Even though it was clearly way too big for her, she wore it to school proudly. She loved how it looked and how it sparkled. Let’s be honest, good taste runs in the family. At school, other kids loved it and moms started asking where they could get one too. That was our sign: if kids were excited to wear reflective gear, we had to make it happen!

Moms, kids,.. and now we started hearing from dads, brothers, and partners who also wanted to stand out in the darkflow. But the fit wasn’t right for most male body types, and the rainbow shimmer wasn’t everyone's cup of tea.
So, our founder Julie got to work again. This time her designing skills brought us bodyglower North! Inspired by the breathtaking hues of the Northern Lights and designed with a straighter, more unisex fit. The same power of visibility but with a new vibe.

sparked an idea
Just when you thought this story had peaked... it got a little fluffier. Our content creator was out late at night, walking her dog when a car nearly missed the poor guy. She was visible, as she was wearing her bodyglower, but her dog wasn’t. That’s how the Doggyglower was born!
